Pottery 4

This collection of ceramics is connected to something, with a truly deep affection. In the 1980s, my paternal grandfather often worked in Middle Eastern countries. I always remember that when he came back home, he brought back objects, souvenirs. They were often metal plates, teapots, coffee or tea glasses. Sometimes a small piece of jewelry. For me as a child, those were treasures, truly artifacts from so far away, from another culture. I was always very fascinated. Drawing inspiration from his travels and mine, I tried to create a sort of bridge of emotions, attempting to revive in those who see these works, in those who own them, the same curiosity, the same wonder that I felt as a child. For this collection, I decided not only to paint the plates but also to engrave them with a metal point, of course, doing all this work by hand to create something even more special. Through the effort of engraving, I hope to have conveyed all the love put into creating this collection.
